All children should have the skills necessary to be productive contributing members of society. In order to accomplish that goal the Board should consistently review policies and monitor programs to ensure that all children have access to high quality curriculum and staff. We need to provide our staff with the necessary tools and professional development so they can be successful.

We need to address our capacity issues and deteriorating infrastructure, especially the aging portable classrooms. We should work with the City to develop a long range plan to address our capital needs.

The most important responsibility of this Board is to make sure that the mission and vision of the Stamford Public Schools reflect the belief that all children can be successful lifelong learners, and have the skills necessary to be productive, contributing members of society. We must then hold the superintendent accountable for meeting that goal.
