While I will continue to fight for fiscal responsibility and enforcement of zoning regulations, if I am re-elected I have set my Agenda for the next year to focus on two broad areas that affect my District and the City of Stamford:

1> There are two City Departments who interact directly and frequently with our City residents: The Building Department for building permits, inspections and certificates of completion, and the Citizens Services Office that receives daily requests for repairs, services and failure notifications. On the basis of feedback I have received from many of my constituents these two service Departments frequently fall short of what our residents expect. I intend to initiate a detailed review of the services our residents ought to expect from these two Departments and how we can better meet those expectations

2> I am very concerned that our Parks do not have adequate policing with the result that there is an increase in unruly and dangerous behaviors that our residents are exposed to. I intend to work with my BOR colleagues to initiate a deeper study of how the Parks might be better policed, including consideration for an enhanced role for the Parks Police whose role has been seriously diminished in the last 5 to 10 years.

I have an email list of almost 500 constituent's households that I constantly seek to add to and update. I periodically send to this list an update on current issues that I believe my constituents are interested in and each such communication normally leads to a number of interactions and sharing of ideas. In addition I respond very quickly to any enquiries, whether they be by phone or email or sometimes in person. I try to regularly attend Board meetings of the Shippan Point Association and the Cove Neighborhood Association. I believe the sum total of these interactions is more effective than overly frequent or lengthy news letters. I have hosted several mini-town hall meetings at my house and intend to consider increasing these forums in the future.

At the age of 73, I am still active in business as Chairman of two companies and Vice Chairman of a third. As a result I do not currently have time for community or charitable activities other than those associated with my role on the Board of Representatives
