District 7 is very concerned with rapid development causing traffic and parking issues, and unsafe & problematic road conditions. If re-elected, I will continue to engage all the necessary City of Stamford Departments to ensure that Glenbrook concerns are heard and addressed. Controlled and planned growth with citizen input is healthy, but some decisions have not had community support and have led to the deterioration of the quality of life in our neighborhoods. We want Glenbrook to be a safe place for walkers, runners, bikers, and drivers and I will work hard to make that a reality.
I would like to continue to push for expansion of text, e-mail and/or phone alerts for planned City activities which will impact streets and warn residents of upcoming disruptions or safety concerns. I would also strive to get City departments to update the public on a regular basis with short video clips to keep residents informed of new programs, to help re-educate or bring to light new data for a topic of particular importance, or to encourage improved behaviors which are becoming troublesome for Stamford (i.e. keeping streets litter free). There are benefits and significant financial impacts for different City programs and I am very interested in making sure residents are aware of those details.
For the past four years, I have attended every monthly Board of Representatives meeting. I have served as Chair of the Fiscal Committee and Performance Metrics Special Committee and have been an active member of the Transportation and Education committees. I represent the Board of Representatives on the Stamford Water Pollution Control Authority (SWPCA), the Property Revaluation Review Committee, and the Pension Task Force. I am honored to represent District 7 and ask for their support so I can continue the hard work of making Glenbrook and the City of Stamford even better.
