My top priority for the district is the question that most residents asked me while I was campaigning door to door: “Why is the value of my house going down, but my property taxes are on the rise?” The past administrations of our city, have given all tax breaks to developers and corporations that promise new jobs and economic growth. The end result: the city’s taxpayers absorbed the tax burden. It seems most of the promises from the corporations are never fulfilled. Small businesses and homeowners are keeping Stamford afloat. If elected to the Board of Representatives, I would try to control spending to keep taxes as low as possible.
To keep the public informed, I will hold frequent district meetings with the residents. If the public is unable to meet with me in person, I can also be reached by telephone, email, and on social media via Facebook. If requested, I will gladly meet with residents one-on-one. The community will have the option to provide me with their email addresses to receive notifications for meetings and district updates. This will allow us all to be on the same page, resulting in an engaging and participatory community.
