Frank Cerasoli (R)

Stamford Board of Representatives, District 15

Republican
Board of Representatives/Deputy Minority Leader
203-595-9383

After walking to every household in the district the last two months, one thing came through loud and clear. The top priority in this district (which includes portions of Glenbrook, Belltown, and Springdale) can be summed up in three simple words – ‘Quality of Life’. Very simple words, but they cover many issues. Some of the issues you have voiced concern over include:

 Deteriorating road conditions
 Failure to properly enforce zoning laws
 Cars speeding through local roads
 Needed improvements to school facilities
 Overdevelopment (and its consequences for our neighborhood)
 Unreasonable noise levels
 The continually increasing tax burden
 Worsening traffic

…they all really come down to ‘Quality of Life’. It is, without question, a big issue - requiring activity in many areas - but it is the issue that I will make my priority if re-elected.
I have gone door-to-door many times before (along with Joe Coppola, my running mate), but that is not always the best, or quickest, way to reach everyone. For those who are unfamiliar, there is a Board of Representatives website (http://boardofreps.org) that lists contact information for all representatives – so my contact information can always be found there. Many of you in the district that I do not already know, have been able to find my information there, and have contacted me for help with a specific situation. In addition, I have regularly attended neighborhood association meetings. And I have, finally, joined the 21st century, setting up a campaign website and Facebook page.

I encourage you to visit our website (http://stamforddistrict15reps.com) or Facebook page (Cerasoli & Coppola for Stamford District 15) for additional information. If re-elected, I plan to keep these webpages open and active, to keep you informed, and to seek your feedback and input. My email address is [email protected], and my telephone number is 203-595-9383.
My commitment to public service goes back to my first post-college ‘job’ as a Peace Corps Volunteer, teaching high school math in Cameroon, West Africa. While the experience reinforced, for me, the incredible value of education (I have many stories about what my students were able to accomplish), it also taught me the power of volunteerism, and the difference one’s actions can make. After returning home from overseas, I continued to volunteer, in various capacities, depending on my circumstances at the time. Currently, I serve on the Board of Representatives, and have done so since 2009. In my role on the Board of Representatives, I have served on the Fiscal Committee, the Education Committee, the Appointments Committee, and the Housing/Community Development Committee (as well as Special Committees on which I was asked to serve). Going back to when I first started volunteering, I have always found the experience extremely rewarding.
