Semi-retired Printer, Currently serve on the Board of Representatives, Chairman of the Operations Committee, member Fiscal Committee and Public Safety Committee.
My district partner, Frank Cerasoli and I personally visited every street and household in District 15 over the past several weekends. My top priorities specific to the 15th District are those which our constituents feel most passionate about. I believe their top priorities must be my top priorities since I represent them. Quality of life issues such as Zoning Enforcement, Roads and Infrastructure, Over Development, Traffic and Parking as well as Quality Education and Property Taxes were most often discussed with us. We are already working on many of these issues. We will soon begin the 2018/19 budget deliberations which, upon completion will determine property tax rates throughout the city. As conservatives on spending and being so outnumbered on the Board of Representatives, trying to hold the line on spending can be frustrating but we don’t allow ourselves to become discouraged. We just keep trying! The job of District Representative demands a full commitment to the people we represent. I believe we have demonstrated that commitment and look forward to continuing to serve the people of the 15th District for the next four years.
For the past 14 years I have made myself available to the people I represent, by phone or by email as well as making personal visits when necessary. Now also on social media. My contact information as well as all representatives can be found at (www.boardofreps.org). In addition, I am happy to attend and have attended many neighborhood meetings and Zoning hearings which might impact my district. I am accessible to my constituents 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I don’t see how I can be more accessible!
Being a life long resident of Stamford, I have proudly served my community as a volunteer firefighter for 55 years. I served as Belltown Fire Chief for 21 of those years. During that time, I have come into contact with people and families at some of the worst times in their lives and have been proud to be able to help them through their personal crisis. If helping your neighbor doesn’t give one a sense of accomplishment to one’s community, nothing will.
