My top priority for my district is advocating for infrastructural developments that would make it more pedestrian friendly. Stamford is a great city; however, it lacks proper sidewalks and crossings, especially in the critical intersections. Additionally, another important priority of mine is for all children in Stamford obtain quality education and facilities that they deserve. I will support all efforts to obtain long-term facility solutions rather than short-term solutions that are not sustainable.
Remediating the mold issues is very critical to ensure the safety of our students and staff. I will work with my fellow Representatives, as well as members of the Boards of Finance and Education to develop a technologically updated long-term plan for our facilities, rather than trying to renovate buildings that are not worth the cost, effort, and resources. I would also like to work with the Board of Education to see if there are innovative ways to market our schools better. Often the ratings of our schools are not reflective of their quality. It is very important to change that perspective, so more families will choose to live in Stamford.
I plan to use social media to communicate information about important Board of Representatives, Finance, or Education meetings and public hearings. Listening or attending these meetings is a great way to know the happenings in our district and City. For constituents who do not use social media, my running mate, Jonathan Jacobson, and I are exploring other ways to communicate, including regular meet and greets within our neighborhood. My email address is also listed on our Facebook website, and I welcome my constituents to contact me with any issues they may have.
