To a degree, my district has all the same issues as every other district in Stamford. Taxes, Infrastructure, roads, catch basins, fire hydrants, recently flooding has had an effect on parts of my district as well as across the city. Quality of Life issues, Public Safety, Mold in schools and other buildings, Park Maintenance , Lack of maintenance in city buildings, do not effect just one or two districts, they effect all of us.

As a member of the Board of Representatives, I represent ALL the people of Stamford, whether the live in my district or not. If a constituent or representative from another district needs a hand with an issue, I am there for them. What is good for one district benefits all of us.
The Board of Representatives is deeply concerned about the physical conditions of the schools throughout Stamford. That being said, we want the best possible and most cost efficient plan to be the one that goes forward. The residents of the City deserve no less, whether they have children in the system or not. Coming from a Healthcare facilities management background, there are issues I see that will not be answered by building new school buildings. There has to a sense of pride and ownership in the work that is performed, and that means there must be the proper policies, procedures, training and oversight. We need to raise the bar, because unless we do, brand new schools will be trashed in a very short period of time. That would be a waste of money and a huge disservice to Stamford taxpayers.
The Board of Representatives committee meetings and our monthly Full Board meeting are open to the public. Right now it is through Zoom, but hopefully soon, we will be able to meet in person. I think that the current city website is an improvement, but we can do better. I think we need to make a concerted effort to get people to sign up for social media notifications for both routine government announcements as well as potential weather/storm related emergency announcements, road closures, etc. The people of Stamford for the most part know who represents them in their district, but those that don't, can easily find out who their two representatives are by going the the Board of Reps website www.boardofreps.org
