Throughout my life - whether in my professional career or as a parent - I strive to lead with empathy. I aim to take a participatory role in my community by actively listening to the needs of my neighbors. If I am to be a thoughtful advocate for my fellow residents of District 8 on the city-level, I would aim to bring a humane approach to this work - one that sees in the goodness of others and our ability to come together and make our home a better place.
Having originally come from Texas and then living in NY for much of my life, both of these experiences inspired in me a drive to support those around me, in particular those without a voice. That passion has compelled me to organize for the LGBT and immigrant communities. I seek to focus that drive on supporting the residents of District 8 who make this a vibrant and
I have lived in Stamford for 4 years. My wife was born here, and I quickly fell in love with it, so much so that we chose to raise our child here. It was my strong desire to take an active role in the community in which my three-year-old son grows up. My wife went to KT Murphy, as did her sister and father before her. I care about ensuring that all the children of our community have access to excellent public education. While I would be working to support infrastructure and essential businesses that make ours a strong community, I would aim to work with our Board of Education to support teachers with better resources.
The plan has been approved by the Planning Board, and the machinations of it fall outside of the purview of the Board of Representatives. I believe that one of the most important roles those in local government is to ensure that we support the community with adequate road repair and safety precautions for any and all growth. These decisions about where and how to develop require deliberate care and I value the input and engagement from our community.
I believe it is important that affordable housing is supported with transparency and with with thoughtful funding solutions, however I understand that the AHTF falls outside of the Board of Representatives.
